Junior High students helped Mrs. Bates apply for the Allegro Grant from the Lake Agassiz Wind Symphony at the end of February. Last week we found out that our program was selected as this year's winner!
This grant gives $1,000 to band programs for instrument repair or purchasing, commissioning music, or musical experiences. As part of the requirements for this grant there is a video submission that needs to be student lead, and a group of our Junior High band students took on this challenge. Our production team consisted of Xavier, Mina, Emily, Amelia, AnnaMae, and Brooklyn.
We were invited to the Lake Agassiz Wind Symphony concert this last Sunday to receive our prize and listen to some awesome music!

Great job to the eight groups to perform at Ensemble Contest today in Mahnomen! Only missed pictures of two groups this time. (Overflow and When Johnny Comes Marching Home)

"I suppose that if you're away for a few days, the second-graders will miss you. However, I wonder if they missed me or if I'm wanted for something. Nevertheless, what really counts is that they were thinking of me, and these posters brought a smile to my face. I am grateful to all of my wonderful second-graders and Ms. Reardon for these amazing posters. By the way, please note that I do not like glitter!" - Mr. Ward
