Last Saturday, the Fine Arts Trip fundraiser was a huge success. Freeze-dried candies, tumblers, soups, baked goods, and terrific singing/musical talent showcasing. Thank you to all who attended; you are helping us achieve our fundraising goal.
And a special thank you to everyone who made the night possible even before the doors opened. - Ashley Diepenbrock, Megan Ostgarden, Sue Flynn, Chloe and Cassidy Abraham, the Band/Choir, Miranda Pinske, United Valley Bank, Carrie Booth, and everyone who baked our delicious goodies.

The fourth graders' travel buddies are off to explore the world!! In their backpack is a travel diary for the recipient to write about the area they live in. We are excited to see where they end up and we will be tracking their stops on our classroom map!
About a month ago five senior high choir members auditioned for the UND Honor Festival, and the results were just announced. There were over 800 students that auditioned for an opportunity to be a part of this experience, but only about 100 students were selected for each group. Auditioning for something of this magnitude is so impressive! Way to go! We are so proud of these students!
This year one of our very own was selected to participate in the Treble Choir! Congratulations to Chloe Abraham!
The UND Honor Festival features a band, treble choir, mixed choir, and a string orchestra. The concert is January 21st at 1:30 in the Chester Fritz Auditorium in Grand Forks.

This Saturday come support our Fine Arts students as they perform and fundraise for their trip this spring!
Doors open at 4. Senior High Choir & Band to perform at 4:15. A soup meal is available for purchase and two vendors will be set up selling candy, soaps, and tumblers! All proceeds from the meal and partial proceeds from the other items will go towards funding the trip. Everyone is invited to stay after the concert to eat, shop, and hang out!
Thank you to Dr. Aune and Mrs. O'Connell for inviting us to participate in science & language arts, standards-based engineering activity with the students from Iowa State University.
The engineering students wrote step-by-step directions, that included background information connected to MN learning standards, for folding a paper airplane. Each sixth grader received their own unique set of directions for folding a paper airplane. They folded the airplanes, critiqued the directions, and provided written feedback to the college writers.
The Junior High Honor Band & Choir was a huge success! Students had a lot of fun learning and performing music with other students from around the area. Great job everyone!
